The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) is committed to motivating, educating and communicating with student chapters of the National Association of Black Social Workers, Inc. (NABSW) and their advisors. OSA guides students in creating and maintaining successful student chapters that are socially responsible and reflective of the mission of the NABSW. OSA provides leadership, support and direction relevant to student needs, challenges, programs, retention of student chapters and members, and fundraising. The mission of OSA is to provide a forum for NABSW student members to learn, identify with other African Americans servings as advocates, and protect and affect positive change in the Black Community.

 

 

 

 

 


PRESIDENT

 

Elena Moore is originally from Youngstown, Ohio but currently resides in Columbus, Ohio. She is a graduate of Kent State University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Family Life Education. Currently, she is pursuing a Master of Science in Social Administration (MSSA, equivalent to a MSW) with a concentration in Children, Youth and Families at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. With aspirations of continuing her education as a future doctoral student, Elena is passionate about mental health in the African American community. In her spare time, Elena enjoys spending time with her family, friends and dog, Teddy. She is a Green Bay Packers fan and a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated.


 

 

 

 

 

 

PARLIAMENTARIAN

 

Robert Tyler is originally from York Pennsylvania, but currently lives in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Robert has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from West Chester University and is pursuing a Masters Degree in Social Work from Widener University. He is also the president of the student chapter of ABSW at Widener University. Robert aspires to be a school-based therapist and has a passion for mental health in the African American Community focusing on teens and adolescents. In his free time, Robert enjoys reading the bible, spending time with family, going on hikes with his dog, and is a proud member of the Hebrew Israelite community.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

SECRETARY

 

Dy’sha is a native of Columbus,Ohio and a 2018 graduate of The Ohio State University. She is currently an ASAP student in the Master of Social Work program specializing in substance abuse and mental health.
